I’ve been racing cars since I was 16 and I’ve blown up my fair share of engines so when it comes to lubricants I’ve tried them all. Nothing comes close to royal purple brand lubricants. I use them in anything with an engine. In my truck I use the 5w-20 synthetic and I’ve now used it for 120k miles with great results. In my mustang race car I’ve used royal purple for eight years with no signs of premature bearing wear or any evidence of metal on metal contact. I was using mobil one which is also a good synthetic choice but I feel the royal purple has less friction and therefore keeps your engine running better. With the race car I’ve also noticed an increase in horsepower on dyno runs. It isn’t a huge gain but a few extra hp is always a welcome sight.
Royal purple oil filters are great too with their silicone anti-drain back valves which prevents your engine from starting without oil. I highly encourage anyone to take a look at their offerings and try an oil change with the purple.
